With the dwindling attendance last year, coupled with the demises of the Greenhills Pioneer Days festival, it was looking that after 36 years the race would not happen this year. The good news is that the race will continue in 2016!

Being able to piggy-back on the Pioneer Days festival allowed us to utilize the tents, chairs and restroom facilities. With those unavailable in 2015 we had to make alternative plans, which added to the negative budget we ended up with last year. After the Greenhills Village Council heard the plans to discontinue the race this year, they stepped up (along with our long running sponsor, the Kiwanis) and have committed to providing the additional support we need to continue this tradition.

This year's race will be Saturday, June 25th, 2016 at 8am. There will be some changes, though:
  • All proceeds will go to the Kiwanis Scholarship Fund
  • Entry fee will increase to $10 for an individual or $15 for a family.
We're still ironing out details regarding this last bit, so check back with the website or follow us on Facebook for more information when it becomes available. By increasing these fees we'll better position ourselves to be able to provide a monetary donation to the Kiwanis Scholarship Fund, while still remaining one of the most affordable races in the area.

Thank you to all of the supporters that come out year after year to make this such a special event!

This race was started 37 years ago by local runner Bob Carlson.  Bob is no longer with us, but his vision lives on!  One of Bob's goals for the event was to have it be inexpensive, which was displayed in the early entry fees being only $1.  Due to planning costs Bob reluctantly raised the entry fees to $5.  It's a perfect race for new runners, as well as those that are looking for an enjoyable run through beautiful Greenhills!
